    Description

    Environment

    • The project will develop in Oman, a regional hub for LNG bunkering service to ultimately supply LNG as fuel to marine vessels.

    Mission

    • Act as Civil Engineer for the design of LNG tanks.

    Primary responsibility

    • Accountable for all matters related to the Mechanical/ Piping/ Valve engineering for the LNG tank, fit for purpose and with full respect to the Statement of Requirement with approved changes.
    • Prepares and suggests technical content of essential studies to initiate EPC contractor action and conformity with state of the art in LNG plant design.
    • Supervises all subcontracted studies and provides support to other packages, along with the support of the Head Quarters specialist.
    • Ensure PVV choices take into account the constructability, operability, and flexibility of the facilities.
    • Proposes recommendations on technical deviation requests and keeps updated documentation related to the Mechanical/ Piping disciplines.
    • Participates in studies required by third parties as required.
    • Communicate and apply the H3SE policies of the client and ensure the engineering is developed accordingly.
    • Ensure the correct implementation of Company rules and specifications (CRs/ GSs), Project specifications, relevant international standards, and any applicable regulations requirements.
    • Leads the review of the engineers' key deliverables such as Mechanical/ Piping studies, and consolidates comments from other engineering disciplines and operations.
    • Provides technical assistance to the project for any technical audits (required by the banks and the insurance companies or Board of Directors, HAZOP, PR).
    • Participate with others in the Inspection and Tests Plans (ITP) and FAT preparation and execution. Attend meetings / FATs with Vendors where necessary.
    • Reports potential impact on overall project strategy, planning, and target achievement.
    • Promotes workshops with the HQ specialist and or contractors specialist to ensure the client's concepts and comments are well understood and quickly integrated into technical documents.
    • Guide engineers' main design selection in a Fit-for-Purpose approach to reach an optimized design. Accordingly, he promotes and follows until approval of the deviation request to the client's requirements in the given time frame.
    • Ensures through efficient review the good respect of the applicable frame of reference.
    • Participates actively in proper interface management including process, safety, electrical, and instrumentation studies carried out during the EPSCC phase.
    • Reviews and comments on the key technical documents of the interfacing disciplines such as process, safety, instrumentation, rotating machines, as well as project procedures.
    • Participates in Project HAZID, HAZOP, PR.
    • Provides its technical inputs to any contractual discussions with EPC Contractor.
    • Contributes to the development of the digital plant through centric data management when applicable.
    • Participate in Vendors and in particular for LLIs technical evaluation.
    • Ensure design validity and coherence with other disciplines and throughout the LNG Facilities.
    • Participates actively in proper interface management with all LNG contractors ( PLANT, SIPC, OQGN, etc)
    • Lead/Participate in interface coordination activities and ensure synergies are developed between the different Contractors.
    • Gain knowledge of the Omani norms and practices and use it in projects when relevant.
    • Assist commissioning, start-up, and Operation team when required. Transfer project knowledge to operations.
    • Prepare REX and Lessons Learnt all along the EPC.
    • Contribute to personnel skills improvement and encourage knowledge transfer

    • Location: Chicago area (12 months) then Sohar in Oman (24 months).
    • Status: residential (must be willing to relocate)

    Qualifications

    • Civil Engineer with proven experience (> 10 years) with LNG tanks
    • Professional experience: several years of proven experience in EPSCC stages of LNG projects, including
    • The candidate must also have basic knowledge of welding, NDT, and Corrosion.
    • Good teamwork and previous team Management are preferred.
    • Knowledge of project development in Oman and methods used to submit dossier to state expertise, permitting process, technical approval, Omani norms, and standards, are all either an advantage or to progressively acknowledge and incorporate.
    • Fluent in English

    Other Observations

    Missions in Paris, France, and worldwide are to be forecasted due to the spread of Contractors and main vendors' locations.
