- Become trained and proficient with ECPBS strategies and goals, NCPMI pyramid model and Positive Behavioral Support model.
- Facilitate an ongoing process to help staff develop and implement a plan for supporting best practices to enhance children's social emotional health using ECPBS bestpractice strategies.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, peers, and other coaches.
- Help create environments that support ECPBS Universal strategies and positive behavior.
- Help implement socialemotional strategies and successful teaching practices.
- Direct programs, families and children to appropriate community resources when needed
- Recognize need for individualized intensive intervention.
- Collect, track, and report program data/forms to evaluator and/or ECPBS coordinator on a monthly and ongoing basis.
- Become familiar with and be able to successful implement evaluation measurement tools.
- Collaborate with ECPBS program and community teams
- Engage in monthly reflective supervision, biweekly coaches meetings, and bimonthly team meetings with program site staff.
- Strong proficiency working with and/or mastering technology platforms (ex: RedCap, Zoom, Canva, MS Office Suite)
- Knowledge and education regarding developmentally appropriate teaching practices
- Experience working with persons from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds
- Knowledge and education in typical and atypical social/emotional development of young children 0-6.
- Proficient and confident with developing curriculum and providing trainings (creating materials, able to deliver presentation and trainings)
- Experience with facilitating meetings; including drafting notes, agendas, running meeting, etc.
- Experience and or knowledge of Positive Behavior Support
- Familiarity of Boone County resources involving children and families
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Job Description
The Department of Psychiatry in the School of Medicine is seeking a coach to join the Early Childhood Positive Behavioral Support (ECPBS) program.
This position is 32 hours/week.ECPBS provides training and coaching to early childhood educators to improve the quality of early childhood program environments in Boone County.
ECPBS provides coaching using evidence-based practices to increase childcare provider's knowledge and abilities to build relationships with children and families, promote social-emotional development, reduce challenging behaviors, and promote kindergarten readiness.
The ECPBS coaching key responsibilities include:Primarily Monday through Friday, 9am - 5pm.
There is the occasional need for working hours during nights and weekends to accommodate events in the community (approximately 3-5 times per month).
The person in this position will be hired at 80% FTE (32 hours/week) and will receive benefits such as vacation days and health care coverage options in accordance with UM System HR policies.
Minimum QualificationsA Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
