About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to lead our North American (NA) Mobility Engineering organization. This role will oversee the engineering team responsible for one of our NA Mobility suite of products, which provides SaaS and API solutions to customers in North America.

The NA Mobility team spans across the USA and Brazil, offering credit issuance to fleet companies and their employees through WEX Credit Cards that can be used at fueling stations and select other merchants.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute a long-term vision and strategy for the WEX NA Mobility platform.
Define and implement a comprehensive architectural roadmap for the NA Mobility platform, aligning with business objectives and industry best practices.
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, empowerment, and continuous learning within the engineering teams.
Continuously challenge the status quo and implement mechanisms to reduce time-to-market using efficient engineering methods.
Craft, lead, manage, and grow high-performance engineering teams, including hiring, coaching, promoting, and retaining high performers.
Work closely with product and commercial partners to drive, prioritize, and work backwards from customer requirements and exceed expected outcomes.
Drive effective monthly, weekly, and quarterly mechanisms to plan, execute, and audit workstreams.
Establish a robust and clear engineering roadmap to maintain clarity and motivation for the engineering team.

Requirements:

Masters degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
10 years of experience in software engineering with 5 years of engineering management experience.
Expertise in rapid development and deployment using cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure.
Strong understanding of security and compliance requirements in cloud and data environments.
Excellent leadership, team-building, and dynamic decision-making skills.
Ability to deal with ambiguity and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Salary:$170,000 - $250,000 per year
