    At the State of Michigan, we're seeking a skilled Cook to join our team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you'll oversee the preparation and service of meals for prisoners and staff in one of our correctional facilities.

    We're looking for someone with excellent leadership skills who can motivate and guide prisoner workers in their culinary endeavors. Your expertise will be put to good use as you manage standardized processes, recipes, menus, and reports that ensure high-quality food is served consistently.

    Responsibilities include:
    • Preparing meat dishes such as roasts, steaks, or stir-fries using various cooking techniques.
    • Creatively crafting vegetable-based dishes like salads or casseroles.
    A successful candidate should have a proven track recordof working efficiently in fast-paced kitchen environments while maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols.
