    The role of Chief Information Officer (CIO) is to lead and execute the technology strategy, regulatory compliance, and overall technology operations of the bank.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    Technology Strategy and Execution:
    Provide executive leadership, direction, coordination and control over the Bank's technology programs, budget, services and resources necessary to support the mission and operations of the Bank (and applicable policies, directives, and regulations)

    Develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with the bank's business goals and long-term visionOversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of technology systems, infrastructure, and applicationsEnsure the security, availability, and reliability of the bank's technology platformsRegulatory Compliance:
    Stay current with banking regulations and ensure the bank's technology operations comply with all applicable laws and regulationsCollaborate with internal stakeholders (including legal, and compliance teams) to develop and execute regulatory compliance strategiesImplement and maintain robust controls, policies, and procedures to mitigate technology-related risks

    Board Representation:
    Serve as a technology expert and advisor to the bank's board of directorsPresent technology strategies, initiatives, and performance updates to the boardCollaborate with other members of the executive team to align technology strategy with the bank's overall business strategyCommercial and

    Consumer Lending:
    Leverage expertise in commercial and consumer lending to support the bank's asset generation goalsHelp identify opportunities for direct-to-consumer lending via partnerships with established playersDevelop & enable lending products and distribution channels to rapidly scale the bank's lending businessIdentify potential M&A and strategic partnership opportunities that align with the bank's lending strategyMergers & Acquisitions:Provide bank technology subject matter expertise in mergers and acquisitions, ensuring seamless integration of technology systems and operationsAssess potential technology risks and opportunities associated with M&A activitiesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to execute successful mergers and acquisitionsSolid partnerships and industry connections with leading Fintech organizations to inform build vs buy decision makingYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in

    Required Qualifications:


    10+ years of proven experience in a senior technology leadership role within the Banking industryDemonstrated knowledge of Banking regulations and compliance requirementsDeep domain expertise in commercial and consumer lending, including direct-to-consumer lending and partnershipsExperience developing and executing technology strategies to enable business goalsHistory of cultivating effective working relationships with cSuite leaders and key business partners to drive business agendasTrack record of success building scalable technology solutions using Agile methodsTrack record of successful merger and acquisition due diligence & technology integrationDemonstrated strategic thinking abilities and an enterprise-wide perspectiveSuccess leading global software engineering teams of 50+ peopleHistory of developing future leaders through coaching, mentoring & succession planningExperience budgeting, forecasting & managing capital budgetsLeadership style which fosters accountability, transparent communication and innovationDemonstrated high level of emotional intelligenceProven outstanding collaboration, influencing, problem solving, conflict management and negotiation skillsExcellent analytical, communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skillsBachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration) or equivalent experience*All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy .At UnitedHealth Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.
