- Supports the instructional development of all teachers in understanding the curriculum, Indiana state standards, varied assessments, the Framework for Teaching, and data analysis.
- Leads data analysis meetings, Weekly Data Meetings (WDMs)
- Builds strong relationships with scholars, families, teachers, administrators, and other PATH team members
- Provides direction and coordination for how the curriculum is taught consistent with school initiatives and best instructional practices.
- Assists teachers in understanding the PATH School mission and core beliefs.
- Assist teachers with resources, materials, tools, and information to support classroom instruction and planning, including, but not limited to, new resources.
- Supports teachers and administrators in using data to improve instruction.
- Assists teachers with planning and pacing of lessons, the development of differentiated lessons, and the selection of best practices to meet the needs of their scholars.
- Supports teachers by helping with the ―strategic "how" of teaching -- shares multiple instructional strategies/processes with teachers during planning time.
- Observes lessons and provides feedback for teachers' professional growth and scholars' success.
- Develops staff members' knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors through a variety of professional development topics and designs.
- Develops coaching plans for teachers to ensure scholar improvement.
- Contributes to the development of systems and structures to improve teacher practice
- Submits a weekly coaching log and any pertinent data requests/coaching documentation.
- Attends and leads summer training sessions

VISION FOR POSITION
At The PATH School (TPS), we seek candidates who are committed to our vision, mission and core beliefs. At TPS, academic counselors are passionate about serving teachers in the urban core. They have the utmost respect for their teachers, scholars and families, and are absolutely committed to their scholars' academic and personal development and success. Academic counselors believe deeply in the importance of the social and emotional development of young people and are committed to demonstrating that belief daily. They are excited about teaching and learning and are continually working to help their colleagues improve their ability to do both. They are able to help teachers bring their lessons and materials to life, helping teachers engage their scholars and demanding the highest results. TPS academic counselors are supportive, thoughtful, creative, relentless, and unbelievably motivated. They work collaboratively with their teachers, learn alongside them, and do whatever it takes, day in and day out, to make sure their scholars succeed.
