    JENNIFER KAUBLEPhone: Email: accepted for another 12 Days 1 Hrs 0 MinsThe PositionAuditors conduct audits on accounts, records, activities, operations and/or internal controls of individuals, business organizations, State agencies or other government jurisdictions subject to State taxation or regulation to ensure compliance with State and federal rules and regulations and legal requirements and/or proper safeguarding of agency funds.

    Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.

    The Department of Taxation is recruiting to underfill multiple Auditor 2 positions within the Excise and Local Government Services Section in the Carson City Office.

    These positions perform independent financial audits of taxpayer records. Complexity of Net Proceeds of Minerals Tax and the financial records are involved.

    The candidates must communicate with and assist taxpayers as well as prepare a complete audit report of findings and independently work in the field at the audit site.

    Travelling out of town on overnight trips to audit 2-3 times per year is required. The candidate must observe and follow the rules of the Department's Safety and Health Program.

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, which included 6 college credits in beginning accounting and/or auditing; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education, supplemented by 6 college credits in beginning accounting and/or auditing, and two years of professional or technical level auditing or accounting experience involving analyzing financial information and making recommendations based upon that analysis; OR two years of experience as an Accountant Technician I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above, which must have included 6 college credits in beginning accounting and/or auditing.
