    Generating and executing capital projects to ensure infant formula and food safety, employee safety and environmental compliance.

    Serves as back up for the Plant Manager, assisting in the support of daily operations (including weekend and evening shifts where required).

    Oversees the Maintenance Department to ensure that maintenance work orders are prioritized, PMs are completed on time, and that the department stays on budget.

    Helps to ensure communication of needed information to all associates. On call 24/7 as plant and schedule requires. Daily hours may fluctuate as production needs warrant.

    Principle ResponsibilitiesEnsures that all work is done safely, on time, with high quality results, effective cost management, and in accordance with current Good Manufacturing PracticesProvides technical support to Corporate Engineer and local operations through the support and execution of capital projects and by being a technical resourceLead the Continuous Improvement Program for cost savings, energy utilization, and maintenanceManage new equipment installations using Capital Expenditure proceduresEnsure that corrective actions address root causes and are completed in a timely and customer responsive mannerLeads the plant safety committeeEnsures that facilities are maintained and improved as required, including good housekeeping, general appearance, landscaping, and that routine maintenance is completed as requiredManage any statutory inspections, liaisons with insurance companies and other duties in this areaDirect reporting responsibility for maintenance associates, as well as any contractor firmsWorks with Plant Manager to ensure that cGMP, Security systems, infant formula regs and SQF requirements are met.

    Facility and preventive maintenance standards are consistently metCompetency RequirementsEducation:
    Minimum of a Bachelor degree in Engineering (ChE or ME preferred)

    Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a similar position

    Decision Making:
    Ability to make decisions quickly and effectively, while utilizing discretion and good judgment

    Other:
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills required; demonstrated team player

    Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities with pressured deadlines

    As Identified in Intelex system

    Performance Metrics:

    Skill Requirements:
    Infant Formula or Food manufacturing experience preferred

    Physical Demands:

    Ability to lift up to 55 poundsRegulatory Requirements Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, follow CGMP's, and work in a manner consistent with all corporate and regulatory, food safety, quality and sanitation requirementsWill comply with all applicable federal, state, and local standards for the manufacture of infant formula and other non-infant nutritional foods.
