    Description
    The Sentinel of Amsterdam -

    RESPONSIBILITIES 2. Assist in the development and updating of assistance plans.

    3. Ensure that assistance plans are completed and updated in a

    timely manner.

    4. Coordinate and adjust housekeeping and laundry schedules as

    needed. Assign resident-services tasks.

    5. Do personal laundry for residents if so requested on the

    assistance plan.

    6. Strip and make residents' beds weekly; launder residents' linen

    and towels, fold and return them to residents.

    7. Assist in preparing meals, serving meals and bussing tables

    during mealtimes.

    8. Clean residents' rooms as outlined in

    the assistance plan.

    9. Encourage socialization among residents.

    10. Assist with the activity program; conduct activities as directed by

    the Activity Coordinator.

    11. Encourage and/or remind residents to participate in activities.

    Promote activities enthusiastically to pique residents' interest.

    12. Chaperone activities outside the facility when requested.

    13. Monitor health, safety and well-being of residents.

    14. Document information pertaining to changes in residents'

    functional status, personal needs, appointments, etc.

    15. Assist in keeping the environment safe for residents.

    16. Provide one-on-one support when needed.

    17. Report concerns about residents to Administration.

    18. Respond to resident emergencies; provide first-aid assistance and

    arrange for appropriate medical attention/follow-up.

    19. Arrange for transportation services.


    20. Assist with bathing and showering as per assistance plan.

    21. Provide assistance with haircuts, shaving and dressing.

    22. Assist in the development of staff work schedules.

    23. Practice safety in working around and with equipment,

    chemicals, tools and utensils.

    15. Carry out other duties as assigned by REPORT TO.

    16. Assist in other areas of the same department. Assistance in other departments are to be approved by supervisor.
