OVERVIEW
We are currently searching for a skilled professional to join a well-known client's team as a Data Analytic Specialist in South San Francisco, CA. The Data Analytic Specialist role will enable us to improve data and metadata acquisition processes in collaboration with data curators, data managers, and more. Their work will have a direct impact on the organization and the larger clinical industry, making this an amazing career opportunity.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintaining and developing data conformance checking scripts and requirements
• Acquiring and QCing biomarker data files from internal groups and external vendors. Capturing data and metadata in file systems and databases.
• Monitoring data processing requests and submitting data files to analysis pipelines
• Understand how to merge different data biomarker types with clinical data to generate analysis-ready data sets
• Maintaining and curating content of internal knowledge sharing repositories to comply with FAIR
• Working with biomarker operations managers and biometrics colleagues to understand the workflow and understanding the impact of the data for the scientific stakeholders
• Supporting design, implementation, and improvement of workflow/program processes
EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of 5 years of related work experience required
• Experience with relational databases and SQL
• Experience working with python and/or R, using APIs to enhance metadata and generate metric insights
• Experience with Clinical trial data management
• Experience and/or familiarity with scientific assays
• Experience and/or familiarity using and developing BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Qlik, SAP Analytics Cloud etc.) for non-technical end-user use
EDUCATION
• Bachelors or Masters degree in Life Science or Computer Sciences
To be a best-fit your strengths must include:
• Familiarity working in a Linux computing environment
• Proficiency in scripting languages in R and/ or Python
• Familiarity with modern informatics systems, relational and non-relational databases, and data visualization tools.
• Comfortable navigating and working within an AWS environment
• Demonstrated experience with informatics best practices and developing well-documented, production code.
• Working knowledge of scientific research application development cycles and data management principles.
• Experience managing and curating biological or clinical data
• Proficient on the use of office apps (GSheets/Excel, GDocs/Word, GSlides/PowerPoint) - GSuite is preferred
• Careful, detail-oriented working style
• Outstanding communication, collaboration, and problem solving skills
• Able to work independently and in a team setting.
