    A well-regarded leadership nonprofit based in Charlotte is in need of a Learning & Development Program Specialist. The office is conveniently located south of the Uptown area, offering free parking. The majority of the role will be on-site, with some flexibility in schedule and potential for a hybrid setup as onboarding is finalized.

    Overview:

    This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the success of all programs. The primary aim is to foster leadership development for both participants and volunteers involved in program planning. Think of this role as the behind-the-scenes orchestrator of a successful event - you make it happen without being in the spotlight. Collaboration with the Executive Director, staff, volunteers, and community leaders is essential, providing exposure to influential figures in the Charlotte area. The ideal candidate will be a servant leader dedicated to serving others, adept at managing details to bring the big picture to life, and enthusiastic about Charlotte and leadership development.

    Responsibilities:

    • Overseeing and managing the program, group, and curriculum.
    • Supporting the current program curriculum to uphold established standards.
    • Planning program days and coordinating volunteer teams.
    • Facilitating small groups within volunteer project teams.
    • Empowering and influencing without direct authority.
    • Managing volunteers effectively to ensure successful program implementation.
    • Synthesizing and delivering information and ideas collaboratively with the team.
    • Assisting in program planning related to training needs.
    • Monitoring program financial performance against budget.
    • Coordinating logistical arrangements for all programs.
    • Supporting program-related events beyond the regular schedule.
    • Building positive relationships for a welcoming work environment.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree.
    • 5+ years of experience in non-profit or similar programmatic work.
    • Strong organizational skills for managing multiple projects.
    • Team-oriented with a willingness to take on any task.
    • Experience facilitating groups in diverse settings.
    • Comfortable in a supportive role and eager to grow.
    • Excellent communication skills, detail-oriented.
    • Creative, innovative, and forward-thinking.
    • Interpersonally mature, diplomatic, and trustworthy.
    • Committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
    • Knowledge of Charlotte/Mecklenburg County demographics and civic issues is a plus.

    Other Important Criteria:

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, WordPress, and general computer skills.
    • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
    • Availability for local and occasional out-of-town travel.
    • One-year contract with potential for extension. Full-time hours and flexible schedule required.
    • Possibility of remote work with on-site days monthly and occasional overnight/weekend commitments.

    Hourly Rate: $30.00-$40.00
