Job SummaryThe Department of Computer Science at the University of Kentucky invites applications for a tenure-eligible, 9-month appointment (Regular Title Series) faculty position to begin August 2025.
We seek excellent candidates in all areas, with specific needs in AI/machine learning, software engineering/ HCI , theoretical computer science, data science/data mining, wireless networks, computer systems and security.
A demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse teams to address grand societal challenges is highly desirable.Successful candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate education and be qualified to teach a broad range of courses in Computer Science.
All regular title series faculty are expected to have a mix of research, teaching, and service to be negotiated annually with the chair of the department.
Tenure-eligible faculty are expected to build a strong research program in their chosen area and to be dedicated teachers, contributing to our instructional offerings at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
The Department, housed within the College of Engineering, has 24 faculty members.We aim to be a diverse community of researchers and educators pursuing pioneering research in computer science as well as interdisciplinary research collaborations at the university and beyond; offering all students the highest quality instructional programs including Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD degrees in Computer Science, Master's degree in Data Science, and Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD degrees in Computer Engineering; expanding our reach to marginalized and underrepresented students, and serving the professional, local, state and global communities.
The degree programs in Computer Engineering are offered in collaboration with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering Department; the undergraduate programs in Computer Science and in Computer Engineering are ABET -accredited.
