Company Overview

We're partnered with a well‑established Water/Wastewater (WWTP) General Contractor in Florida seeking a motivated Project Engineer to support major treatment plant and heavy civil utility projects. This team specializes in water and wastewater treatment facilities, process mechanical installations, large‑diameter underground utilities, concrete structures, and site civil improvements—offering strong long‑term growth opportunities.

Role Summary

As a Project Engineer, you'll support both active and upcoming WWTP projects across the Lakeland region. You'll assist with project coordination, documentation, scheduling, procurement, and field engineering while ensuring full compliance with City, County, and utility authority standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with project documentation, RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and logs
• Support coordination between field crews, subcontractors, inspectors, and plant operators
• Track quantities, production, change events, and project progress
• Help maintain project schedules, budgets, equipment tracking, and quality‑control standards
• Support installation of process piping, equipment, concrete structures, underground utilities, and site civil components
• Participate in startup, testing, and commissioning activities
• Assist with procurement of mechanical equipment, valves, pumps, and piping materials

Key Requirements

• 1–5+ years of experience in WWTP, WTP, industrial water, or heavy civil utility construction
• Background in process mechanical work, underground utilities, concrete structures, or treatment‑plant upgrades
• Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered)
• Experience with estimating, takeoffs, and scheduling software is a plus
• Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates
