This position is responsible for collaborating with Sales & Marketing to generate a quality demand signal used in downstream supply chain processes to align end to end material flow and prepare for actual customer demand.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Drive cross functional engagement by analyzing monthly performance metrics and qualitative forecast elements to provide insights and opportunities for improvementDevelop an effective statistical forecast by managing quantitative forecast elements based on demand patterns, trends, and seasonalityLead demand planning consensus efforts with Sales & Marketing and document forecasting assumptions and decisions in support of the S&OP processSupport management with risk assessment and mitigation activities driven by key demand changesParticipate in sku rationalization discussions led by Sales & Marketing to guide demand estimatesContribute to new product planning initial forecast estimates and monitor market responseManage discontinued items and partner cross functionally to ensure a smooth, cost effective, phase-outUnderstand demand variance impact as it relates to budget and business strategies
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
BS in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management or related field of study required3+ years of experience in demand planning, supply chain or forecasting roleExcellent software skills - experience in IBM Planning Analytics, SAP or equivalent demand planning system preferredAbility to effectively break down complex data (quantitative and qualitative) into manageable pieces to be used in the forecasting processDemonstrated proficiency applying demand and inventory management concepts with an understanding of the financial and operational impactsAbility to work and influence effectively across departments and multiple levels of managementPossess the business acumen and interpersonal skills to build and maintain cross functional relationshipsAbility to identify continuous improvement opportunities and bring ideas to fruition Must understand and embrace the Wahl values and cultureWhy Wahl?We are proud to celebrate over 100 years as the standard for grooming products used by barbers and hairdressers all over the world.
