Job DescriptionLooking for enthusiastic individuals to join our Summer Camp team for the Summer of 2024
JOB SUMMARY :
Under the direction of the Camp Program Director, the Camp Coordinator is responsible for carrying out all duties related to his/her assigned program in a manner consistent with the aims of the Old Colony Y.
The Camp Coordinator will uphold the employee code of conduct and will ensure that all areas of the job responsibilities will reflect the mission of the Old Colony Y, and the regulating agency.
She/he will display and encourage the character traits of caring, responsibility, honesty, and respect in the fulfillment of all job duties.
JOB FUNCTION :
ØAcquire certification in specialty area (as required)
ØCrisis intervention
ØAssist with organizing, planning, and scheduling
ØProper set up and storage of any equipment required for the program
ØCreate awareness of program amongst all camp staff
ØPlan and lead daily activities
ØEnsure a fun and safe environment
ØEnsure an appropriate ratio at all times
ØEnsure checklists are completed daily
ØAdhere to all DPH regulations and Old Colony YMCA policies and procedures

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
ØSupervise counselors or other staff involved in program activities

FISCAL
RESPONSIBILITIES:
ØAdhere to all fiscal policies as outlined by the Association
ØMaintain and inventory all supplies and equipment
4.
FACILITY/
HOUSEKEEPING
RESPONSIBILITIES:
ØEnsure that a sanitary healthy environment is maintained
ØBe familiar with emergency procedures
ØEnsure checklists are completed daily
5.
INTERDIVISIONAL/COMMUNITY/ VOLUNTEER/
RESPONSIBILITIES:
ØAssist in public relations events sponsored by the Old Colony Y
ØAttend family nights and open houses for camp
ØProvide friendly, courteous service to all campers, parents, and volunteers of the Y
ØContribute to a positive work environment by illustratinh pride in job enthusiasm and cooperation with co-workers
Requirements
Ø Must be at least 18 years old
Ø Minimum of 6 months to 1 year previous experience in camp or school-age programs or in teaching
Ø Certification if required for specialties ie. ropes, waterfront etc.
Ø Good interpersonal communication skills
Ø Evidence of physical examination every two years
Ø Negative Mantoux TB test and immunity for measles, mumps, and rubella
Ø Certification of good health from a physician
Ø Must be able to walk around camp all day as well as stand, stoop and sit
