We are currently seeking a
Senior transport & logistics manager
to join our team at Kinnegad, Co Westmeath .
As a Senior transport & logistics manager you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient management and control of the shipping and Transport operations whilst playing a part in achieving agreed budgetary and service levels as per best industry practice.
Responsible for organising the safe and efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of materials, goods, and products to feed business operations and customer demand.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategically manage transport and shipping in compliance with company's policies and vision.
Oversee receiving, distribution, and maintenance operations.
Initiate, coordinate, and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures.
Oversee all handling, and shipping legislation requirements.
Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security
Liaise with stock control to help reduce stock loss/damages.
Liaise with clients, suppliers, and transport companies.
Plan work rotas, assign tasks appropriately and appraise results.
Produce reports and statistics regularly (IN/OUT status report, staff reports etc.)
Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided.
Plan, co-ordinate and monitor the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods.
Understand customer needs and ensure alignment with the needs/commitments of the business.
Plan future capacity requirements.
Identify any systems improvements and drive through recommendations for change.
Develop and maintain metrics/KPIs, reports, process documentation, customer service logs, training, and safety records.
Ensure that health and safety meet the required standards and that risk assessments are carried out.
Ensure that vehicles, machinery, and equipment is well maintained and fit for purpose.
Ensure a clean and tidy working environment to aid operational efficiency.
Work as part of the management team
Implement strategies to improve operations, recommending, supporting, and implementing continuous improvement activities.
Optimise processes and procedures improvements to improve quality of delivery and resources in line with quality standard requirements and customer deliverables.
