    Description
    PositionSummary: The Director of Engineering inspires a group of (20+) managers, project managers, engineers, & technicians who develop products for the biopharmaceutical & fluid transfer industries.

    Responsible for talent development, development and implementation of strategies, performing new opportunity assessments for strategic fit, translating market needs to new product designs, filling pipeline through product and application design & development, collaborating on corporate project prioritization efforts, protecting ideas with intellectual property, sustaining commercial products, execution of projects through design & project stage gates, and managing budgets across (4) Engineering groups: Applications Engineering, Project Management, Design Engineering, & Product Development Engineering.

    Key Job Responsibilities:
    • Developing and implementing people, process, and product strategies
    • Hires, develops, sets team and individual goals, and reviews performance
    • Creating & maintaining design & development processes for Make to Stock, Engineer to Order, & Configure to Order projects to endure projects meet design, quality, safety, & regulatory compliance guidelines
    • Project management of large-strategic, cross-functional projects within the corporate project portfolio
    • Collaborating on corporate project prioritization and resourcing efforts
    • Engineering activities to sustain commercial products, such as review of deviations & non- conformances, and performing corrective and preventative actions
    • Work with Customers, Sales, Marketing, and Product Managers in the design of products and partner with Product Development, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering and Quality teams to transfer products into manufacturing.
    • Active in Safety and Chemical Hygiene programs
    • Communicates technical information to non-technical stakeholders, both internally and externally
    • Develop and manage budgets and engage in cost management strategies
    Requirements
    • BS in Engineering or Material Science or 10 years relevant work experience, with 10-15 years management experience
    • Hands on working knowledge of fluid transfer & Biopharmaceutical system designs
    • Experience with working with silicone and thermoplastic materials as well as developing injection molding & extrusion processes
    • Analytical skills for evaluating information carefully and solving complex problems
    • Communication skills for overseeing staff and working with leadership team
    • Organizational skills for keeping track of various budgets, employee performance, and schedules
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, etc.)
    Preferred:
    • Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Moldex3D, Minitab or similar software
    • Experience with HubSpot or other CRM software
    • Experience with Microsoft Project or Project WebApp
    • Experience working Microsoft Dynamics (ERP)
    • Experience working within ISO 9001, 10993, 11737, 11137, ASTM D4169, D2240, D412, D395B, USP
