    Position:
    Electrical Engineer (Hardware centric)

    Location:
    Tempe, Arizona (Warner and Kyrene)

    Company Info:
    Small engineering company (7 engineers, 2 electrical) that designs and develops circuit boards and programs them. Niche market of flow meters.

    Experience Needed: 3-5 years engineering experience, electrical engineering degree preferred. Experience with circuit board design/programming is highly desired.

    Day-to-Day: Hands-on role, opportunity to take on projects and try new things without being micromanaged. Open door policy with management. Interact regularly with the engineering team. Projects range from 1-3 per month.

    Hiring Process:
    Zoom interview with HR Manager and electrical engineer managers. 1.5 hours - 2 hours. They will send a schematic design to talk through on technical interview prior to interview.

    Compensation:
    $80k-$110k based on experience. Medical, dental, vision benefits start day 1. 401k plan with 3% match and 3% profit sharing contribution.

    Enthusiastic, takes initiative, passionate about job and invested in company's success. Good communication skills to collaborate effectively.

    This role is responsible for product design, development, documentation, and introduction into manufacturing of electronic instrumentation products. The individual is responsible for internal product development and customer driven projects. The individual is also responsible for developing new product ideas and producing documentation that allows evaluation of concepts.

    The individual must be self-motivated and able to manage projects to ensure all aspects of the designs are completed to schedule.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    Develop designs for the electronic instrumentation product line and ensure products conform to relevant industry standards.
    Review project/product specifications. Provide initial evaluation of design requests and estimates to allow customer proposals to be created.
    Develop realistic project schedules with milestones. Drive projects to completion with minimal supervision. Direct projects through the use of design teams for the purpose of work distribution.
    Design, prototype, test, and document new products. Ensure product and project documentation is in compliance with ISO procedures.
    Transfer product knowledge to Sustaining Engineers and Production personnel for product implementation into manufacturing.
    Maintain a proficient knowledge in the science of electronic design, especially as it pertains to instrumentation and their calibration. This includes knowledge in schematic capture, PCBA layout, EMI/EMC, and hazardous area approvals.
    Have a basic understanding of embedded microcontrollers, communication protocols, and related hardware requirements.
    Understand the manufacturing processes and ensure designs conform to established processes.
    Interfacing with other facets of the organization to ensure effective cooperation and optimal productivity.

    EDUCATION and/or


    EXPERIENCE:


    Bachelor's degree (BSEE) from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience, plus five years minimum related instrumentation experience.

    Experience with Altium Designer schematic capture and PCB layout. Experience with designing for CE noise immunity and hazardous area approvals (Explosion Proof and Intrinsically Safe). Familiarity with communication protocols (e.g. CANbus, Modbus, TCP/IP) is preferred.
