    Job Summary
    The Plate Mounter/Proofer is responsible for preparing and mounting flexographic printing plates according to specifications, ensuring accuracy and quality for press operations. This role supports efficient production by maintaining organized workflows and assisting with continuous improvement initiatives.
    Key Responsibilities

    • Locate plates and job packets using the plate locator program.
    • Check out plates from assigned drawers and verify part, item, and job numbers before proofing.
    • Select required sleeves and apply appropriate sticky back.
    • Mount plates to correct specifications using micro dots.
    • Stage jobs for press and de-mount returning plates.
    • Tear down used sticky back and return sleeves to the rack when not needed.
    • Inspect and clean plates using the plate washer; return clean plates and job packets to the plate room.
    • Perform routine maintenance:
      • Change sponge rolls and clean plate washer filter at the start of each shift.
      • Sweep floors and remove trash at the end of each shift.
    Additional Duties (As Needed)
    • Clean sleeves and dirty anilox rolls.
    • Maintain a debris-free and organized work area.
    • Assist plate room technicians and press operators.
    • Participate in 6S, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement projects.
    Qualifications
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Ability to read and interpret job specifications accurately.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
    • Team-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
    Physical Requirements
    • Ability to stretch, bend, and maintain accuracy during repetitive tasks.
    • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
