    Description
    Essential Functions:

    1. Retrieve and studies assembly instructions, detailed part prints, assembly layouts and parts lists.
    2. Gather components/parts/units, tools and/or material from inventory using a supplied material list.
    3. Balance shafts and rotating components.
    4. Install motors into spindle housings.
    5. Modifies various parts using both hand and power tools to meet the needs of each specific build.
    6. Prepare parts prior to assembly. This includes small sized unit assembly work.
    7. Follow detailed work instructions on order or assembly operations.
    8. Assemble machines/units to current assembly procedures, layouts and parts lists.
    9. Perform bench-type processes and sub-assemblies using hand tools, electronic and pneumatic tooling.
    10. Applies knowledge to identify parts that do not meet industry standards through testing and report defective materials and/or questionable conditions to the Team Lead or department Supervisor.
    11. Reads and interprets work instructions for product specifications, dimensions, tolerances, and tooling instructions.
    12. Accurately reports production results (labor time, part counts and status) in production system.
    13. Identifies opportunities for process improvements.
    14. Submits engineering change requests to supervisor for evaluation.
    15. Train other assembly technicians as directed.
    Knowledge/Skills:
    • Understanding of simple machining and manufacturing processes
      Attention to detail.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and/or technical drawings including GD&T and apply the information as it relates to gaging, dimensioning, and tolerancing.
    • Ability to use and read precision measuring devices.
    • Must be able to perform simple shop math.
    • Basic computer skillsincluding typing and data entry.
    • Experience with inspection computer software and ERP systems preferred.
    • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
    • Driven, hardworking and creative while maintaining integrity and honesty
    • Ability to be flexible and open to a wide variety of tasks and provide support when needed.
    • A desire to work in a small team-based environment and contribute immediately.
    • Must have excellent mechanical abilities.
    Education and Experience:
    • High School Diploma or GED required.
    • Preferred 1 year of experience in manufacturing / vocational schooling related to machining.
    Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
    • Light physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials.
    • Regularly required to sit or stand, bend and reach and walk in order to operate multiple machines simultaneously.
    • May occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
    • This job operates in a manufacturing setting. This role routinely is in an air-conditioned environment with exposure to loud sounds and distracting noise levels. This role will be required to wear safety attire on a daily basis. Exposure to contaminants and hazardous equipment.
