- Gathering patient information and health background
- Taking x-rays when necessary
- Preparing the work area for procedures
- Performing a variety of hygiene procedures including, but not limited to prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, sealants, fluoride varnish, placement of localized antimicrobial agents, delivery of local anesthesia etc.
- Educating patients on good oral hygiene habits
- Updating patient charts
- Sterilizing dental instruments and equipment
- MA Registered Dental Hygiene License (required)
- MA local anesthesia license (required)
- CPR certification (required)
- Understanding of hygiene procedures
- Knowledge of aseptic and sterilization techniques
- Excellent communication skills
- Bilingual (Spanish or Haitian Creole) preferred, not required
