- Provide assistance to customers via phone and in-person regarding billing inquiries and service issues.
- Audit water and sewer billings for residential, commercial, industrial, and wholesale customers, ensuring accuracy based on meter reads.
- Review billings for anomalies in usage, determining the need for meter checks when necessary.
- Input and manage work orders for the water shop, ensuring timely completion and closure.
- Audit accounts for accuracy during changes in water and sewer rates.
- Manage returned bills, contact recipients as needed and taking appropriate actions.
- Assist customers seeking bill payment assistance from various agencies.
- Assist with water and sewer collection efforts as requested.
- Participate in the lein process for unpaid accounts.
- Support water and sewer collection efforts, including customer communication and correspondence.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required, with proficiency in keyboarding, computer applications and calculator usage.
- Four (4) years of progressively responsible office experience, performing a variety of clerical functions.
- Experience in customer service is essential, with strong communication skills for interactions with the public via phone, counter, and written correspondence.
- Basic math skills and familiarity with data entry for software applications necessary.
