    JOB SUMMARYThe Medical Records Coordinator/Custodian will be responsible for managing patient's health records and history. Some of the main duties include helping conduct audits, gathering and filing patient information and processing discharge papers.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for gathering, processing, and maintaining patient medical records and reporting patient information for health standards.

    The incumbent will Position includes, but is not limited to data entry, scanning, filing, efaxing, answering phones, medical records release, and general misc.

    office duties.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPosition includes, but is not limited to data entry, scanning, filing, efaxing, answering phones, medical records release, physician & medical office request, and general office duties.

    Preparing patient charts and gathering information and documents from patientsEnsuring that the medical records are organized, accurate and complete.

    Creating digital copies of paperwork and storing the records electronicallyAssist with physician documentation process by monitoring the dictation system and printing history and physicals, immediate operative reports, consultations and discharge summaries.

    Scans required reports to the patient medical record.
    Processes facility specific HIM mail as applicable.

    Filing the paperwork and reports of inpatients quickly and accuratelySafeguarding patient records and ensuring that everyone complies with the HIPAA standards.

    Transferring data into the facility's main system databaseProcessing the records for admitting and discharging patientsPreparing invoicesQualificationsREQUIREMENTSHigh Schol Diploma or GEDAssociate Degree or Higher PreferredBilingual preferred but not required.1-3+YRS ExperienceExcellent Computer/PC, MS Suite & Outlook Skills RequiredExcellent Customer Service & Phone Skills RequiredPrior experience in Medical facility, Hospital preferredUnderstanding of medical terminologyKnowledge of HIPAA medical privacy regulations and practicesMust have worked using EMR-ATHENA or similar.
