Computed Tomography Technologist Weekend Option

The Computed Tomography Technologist Weekend Option plays a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care during Computed Tomography (CT) procedures. Working under direct supervision, this position utilizes specialized computerized x-ray equipment to produce cross-sectional images of the human anatomy, aiding radiologists in diagnosing various diseases and disorders.

Responsibilities:

• Operates head or body x-ray scanners to create computer-generated cross-sectional images, commonly called CAT (Computed Axial Tomography) Scans.
• Performs routine and special CT exams adhering to established protocols to minimize additional imaging and limit radiation dose, maintaining exam productivity within established benchmarks.
• Completes all exams and documentation in Computerized Health Information (CHL) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), accurately identifying all charges associated with studies and addressing errors for a seamless workflow.
• Educates and prepares patients for their examinations to enhance patient understanding and cooperation during testing and promote a positive patient experience.
• Demonstrates commitment to safe practices, Just Culture, and As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) principles to eliminate errors and enhance patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

• EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent required, Graduate of a Radiology, Imaging or related educational program.
• LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING: ARRT: RT(R)(CT), RT(N)(CT), NMTCB: CNMT, NMTCB(CT), BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider certification.
