    Responsibilities:

    • Delivers professionalnursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoingsurgical or other invasive procedures.
    • Performsscrub functions including the selection and handling of instrumentsand supplies used during procedure.
    • Performscirculating functions including monitoring, recording andcommunicating patient condition and managing overall nursing careof patient before, during and afterprocedure.
    • Prepares operating rooms andsurgical instruments and equipment foruse.
    • Other duties asassigned.

    Education:

    • Graduateof an accredited school of professionalnursing.
    • BSNpreferred.

    Certifications:

    • Current licensure asRegistered Nurse (RN).
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)through American Heart Association (AHA).
    • Ifperforming moderate/procedural sedation must have Advanced CardiacLife Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) within6 months ofhire.

    Complexityof Work:

    • Requires criticalthinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work withminimal supervision.
    • Must be able to work in astressful environment and take appropriateaction.

    WorkExperience:

    • Minimum oneyear RN experiencepreferred.

    PhysicalRequirements:

    • Requires fullrange of body motion including handling and lifting patients,manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requiresstanding and walking for extensive periods oftime.
    • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds offorce occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently,and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantlyto move objects.
    • Physical Demand requirementsare in excess of those for LightWork.
    • Occasionally lifts and carriesitems weighing up to 25 pounds and ability to push, pull, andnavigate supply carts weighing > than 75 poundsperiodically.

    PersonalProtectiveEquipment:

    • Follows StandardPrecautions using personal protective equipment as required forprocedures.
