    GENERAL SUMMARY:
    Performs non-invasive vascular testing in the IP/OP/EP vascular testing areas. Evaluates patient's medical history and symptoms to correlate pertinent information. Evaluate data and provide preliminary reports to the medical staff.

    Delivers care incorporating age, cultural and spiritual needs while demonstrating the Corewell Health standards and promoting a friendly, inviting, and safe atmosphere to patients, their families, significant others, and staff.

    Precepts students and new technologists. Maintains and updates departmental policies and protocols.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:


    Perform non-invasive vascular tests including vessels of the head/neck, abdomen, extremity arterial and venous using color, angio, duplex, imaging, CW Doppler, PVR, PPG.

    Provide exemplary critical thinking skills, written/verbal documentation and communication of patient information, related medical history, and vascular testing results. Assists in coordinating and troubleshooting scheduling of IP/OP/ED testing with office staff, nursing and transportation. Acts as technical resource for office staff.

    Serves as mentor/preceptor for VT I, II, orientees, and students in following vascular lab protocols, procedures, and proper utilization and maintenance of ultrasound equipment.

    Assists director with ongoing verbal and written performance evaluations of technologists, students and orientees. Model behaviors and communication skills that reflect exemplary customer service and employee service standards. Maintain equipment by cleaning transducers, imaging units, cuffs, and rooms during their designated shift on a daily basis. Act as a resource for coordination of equipment service calls, preventative maintenance activities and equipment troubleshooting.

    STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS

    Education / Training:

    Required:
    Graduate from an accredited Vascular Technology program with either an Associates in Allied Health Technology or diploma program.


    Preferred:
    Bachelor's degree


    Work Experience :

    Preferred:
    A minimum of two years of vascular experience including abdomen.


    Certification, Licensure, Registration :

    Required:
    BLS certification


    Required:
    Active Registered Vascular Technologist license with ARMDS registry.


    Other Qualifications :
    Maintains excellent knowledge of vascular anatomy, hemodynamics, pathophysiology, and documentation. Demonstrates technical proficiency in non-invasive vascular lab testing protocols and procedures. Ability to teach/orient new technologists or students utilizing a positive, supportive, and goal-oriented style.

    Excellent communication and organizational skills required in a fast-paced department.

    Must have advanced technical ability to perform all aspects of vascular testing and the ability to effectively mentor other technologists in protocols, procedures, and equipment.
