Ophthalmic TechnicianLa Jolla LASIK Institute is looking for a full-time ophthalmic technician who is positive, energetic and has excellent communication skills to join our team.

Our ideal candidate would be able to multi-task, be positive, energetic and have excellent communication skills. Certification is preferred, but not necessary.


Responsibilities Include:
Greets patients, introduces self and guides to appropriate exam areaDoes pre-testing on Auto-refractor, Pentacam, and iCare tonometryTakes patient history, visual acuities, checks for ocular dominanceAnswers ophthalmology-related patient calls and triages patientsEducates patient on pre- and post-operative careCalls pharmacies regarding prescriptions/prior authorizationsResponsible for daily maintenance and stocking of exam lanes (open and close)

Maintains sterile technique in accordance with OSHA standardsMaintains patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelinesPerforms additional testing such as Visual Field or IOL calculations as neededAbility to refract a plusOpportunity to assist in proceduresAccess to Benefits as per availability:
