    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    Design Substation SCADA systems and telecommunication systems.


    Provides technical support to field personnel and contractors in the installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of SCADA systems, fiber optics, Ethernet networking, and serial communication systems.

    Self-motivated to learn and understand varying computer/control system architectures and software.

    Collaborates with other engineers, departments, and utilities to maintain project schedules.

    Attends meetings and training sessions to increase professional knowledge and skills.

    Maintain departmental databases relating to SCADA system documentation and fiber optic infrastructure.

    Perform NERC CIP compliance activities for department assets.

    Develop and maintain effective policies, procedures, and work instructions.

    Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan installation of a new system or modification of an existing system.

    Analyze project needs and requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.


    Confer with engineers, programmers and others to design systems and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.


    REQUIREMENTS
    Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.


    Minimum Experience:
    No work experience required for an Associate Engineer level.

    Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in related area for an Intermediate Engineer level.

    Five (5) years of work experience in related area is required for Senior Engineer level.

    Proficient knowledge of computer systems, operating systems, and computer hardware.

    Sound analytical, problem-solving, organizational and documentation skills.

    Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with superiors and individuals inside and outside of the Company.

    Ability to work in a team environment.

    Ability to multi-task.

    Above average knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access).

    Ability to learn and utilize job specific software.
