    Freelance Designer

    Start:
    ASAP *must be available to start asap

    End: 2-3 weeks Rate: $37.50/hr

    Location:
    NYC (in-office 5 days a week)*Must have strong woven experience.
    The Designer, Women's Suit is responsible for designing, and developing women's suits and tops.

    We are seeking a highly creative fashion designer with a strong focus on women's suits & tops with minimum of six years of hands-on experience with blend of artistic vision and technical expertise.


    Responsibilities:
    Development
    Research current trends and forecast evolution on said trends within brand identity
    Apply findings from research (including blog, magazine, store, street-style, vintage exploration) to a seasonally relevant, cohesive collection that is well balanced in fabrication and thoroughly merchandised
    Communicate seasonal concept/design intent to factories - request preliminary treatments + mock-ups
    Attend vendor meetings and work on product concepts with Trim Team – follow trim full cycle to production
    Sample Phase
    Generate tech-packs with clear silhouette, garment construction, and trim information to overseas factories
    Evaluate collection standing and sketch + refabricate to support seasonal objectives within line plan/SKU count
    Exaggerate visual cues to reinforce concept + transcribe amplified garments to runway program with stylist
    Support Collection to Production Support Collection to Production
    Follow garment to production with Trim Buyer + Production Managers – ensuring correct development + color allocation applied to each body
    Field Merchandising Requests

    Requirements:
    5+ years of Industry design experience designing Women's Woven required.
    Bachelor's degree in Design
    Ability to hand sketch and draw on computer
    Ability to identify trends and create trend and mood boards
    Keen eye for color and materials
    Strong understanding of woman's apparel market, competitive landscape and consumer.
    Ability to cad and spec garments
    Strong understanding of woven product construction.
    Ability to create brand right, trend right, price right product
    Fluent in Illustrator and Excel
