- Oversee the planning, prioritization, and execution of engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery of high quality software releases that meet customer requirements and expectations
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers working on highly impactful projects, and ensure high levels of productivity and collaboration
- Work with Product and Design in the early phases of feature development to provide information on technical feasibility
- Drive technical vision and architecture of our applications and systems
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, promoting best practices and processes to increase efficiency, quality, and innovation
- Design and implement a QA process that can be utilized by both Engineering and Product to follow best practices and ensure all team members are following the processes outlined
- Lead regular retrospectives and be empowered to provide regular performance feedback to Engineers to help propel impact and product delivery
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Proven experience of 6+ years in software engineering with a focus on backend APIs and mobile application development
- Prior experience as individual contributor with strong technical and systems design skills
- Proficiency in Ruby / Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, building APIs.
- Prior experience leading engineering teams in the development of complex software products and/or solutions
- Prior experience developing and implementing new processes to drive team efficiency and quality assurance
- Strong communication skills, able to engage with a large number of stakeholders consistently to help prioritize team targets and goals
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
