    The opportunity

    Everlance is a dynamic and rapidly growing Series A start-up dedicated to revolutionizing the travel and mileage expense tracking industry. We are currently seeking a proactive and results-driven Engineering Manager to join our energetic Engineering Team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for building high-quality software solutions that delight our customers.

    As the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating the activities of an Engineering team to ensure the successful delivery of projects. You will oversee project planning and scoping, team performance, while also providing technical guidance and mentorship to team members. The Engineering Manager will collaborate with internal stakeholders regularly, such as Product and Design, to drive innovation, meet business objectives, and maintain high standards of quality and efficiency in the engineering process.

    What You'll Do...

    • Oversee the planning, prioritization, and execution of engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery of high quality software releases that meet customer requirements and expectations
    • Lead and mentor a team of engineers working on highly impactful projects, and ensure high levels of productivity and collaboration
    • Work with Product and Design in the early phases of feature development to provide information on technical feasibility
    • Drive technical vision and architecture of our applications and systems
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, promoting best practices and processes to increase efficiency, quality, and innovation
    • Design and implement a QA process that can be utilized by both Engineering and Product to follow best practices and ensure all team members are following the processes outlined
    • Lead regular retrospectives and be empowered to provide regular performance feedback to Engineers to help propel impact and product delivery

    What You'll Bring..

    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
    • Proven experience of 6+ years in software engineering with a focus on backend APIs and mobile application development
    • Prior experience as individual contributor with strong technical and systems design skills
    • Proficiency in Ruby / Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, building APIs.
    • Prior experience leading engineering teams in the development of complex software products and/or solutions
    • Prior experience developing and implementing new processes to drive team efficiency and quality assurance
    • Strong communication skills, able to engage with a large number of stakeholders consistently to help prioritize team targets and goals
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
