Job Description
Job Summary:
This position is a dynamic, customer focused role and integral to the growth strategy of the Teledyne FLIR OGI (Optical Gas Imaging) business in the United States. The successful candidate will ultimately be responsible for growing the sales of all Teledyne FLIR OGI solutions sold and marketed to the Oil & Gas Industry in the Eastern U.S. This individual will create demand with various stakeholders by being the product expert conducting consultative demonstrations and learning events for our end users.
Reporting to the Director of Sales (OGI), the Regional Sales Manager's (RSM) core objective is to both maintain and grow revenue for the Teledyne FLIR Solutions Segment within the Oil & Gas industry of a specified region of the United States with a heavy concentration to our core Optical Gas Imaging Business (OGI).
The RSM will be responsible for selling Teledyne FLIR Optical Gas Imaging cameras while performing specific tasks to execute strategies that further develop existing business while identifying new business opportunities.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop Territory and Key Account plans, including mapping key users/influencers and assessing current and future buying potential.
- Identify unique needs of Oil & Gas customers and evaluate competitive activities, strategies, and market positioning.
- Define and execute strategies to grow market share, tracking progress quarterly.
- Collaborate with FLIR Condition Monitoring, BD, and Product Management teams to support customer needs and inform product feature requirements.
- Build strong knowledge of all FLIR products, services, and market characteristics.
- Maintain an active pipeline with accurate configuration details for forecasting.
- Create and execute market-engagement strategies such as seminars, product demos, and open houses.
- Support regional and national Oil & Gas trade shows.
- Gather and analyze competitive intelligence to develop sales-support materials.
- Keep updated estimates of competitor positions within key Oil & Gas market segments.
Job Qualifications:
- Strong technical sales professional with solid interpersonal skills and a deep understanding of the Oil & Gas sales process.
- Proven ability to gather, analyze, and synthesize information into clear recommendations and strategic insights.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in sales or applications support.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% within the United States.
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
- Technical aptitude and experience selling or marketing to the Oil & Gas industry highly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop materials and present effectively to audiences ranging from operators to executives.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office; must be able to independently create PowerPoint presentations.
