    Job Description Job Description Clayton Services is searching for an Accounting Manager to join a thriving company in Houston, Texas.

    The Accounting Manager will manage all aspects of company-wide accounting, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, monthly financial close process,t support for tax accounting (federal, state, and local, including sales/use and property tax compliance), regulatory reporting on a quarterly and annual basis, overseeing company payment cards, treasury activities, addressing technical accounting issues, and handling special projects.

    Accounting Manager Responsibilities:

    Lead the purchasing and accounts payable function, supervising a team of two Senior AP Analysts and collaborating with other departments.

    Manage accounts receivable, ensuring timely follow-up on overdue payments and periodic review of AR aging.
    Execute monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes using Sage Intacct software, ensuring compliance with internal controls.
    Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end journal entries, including accruals, payroll, intercompany, fixed assets, and lease entries.

    Conduct monthly reconciliation and review of all general ledger accounts (excluding revenue and cost of sales) and generate management financial reporting packages.

    Support technical accounting projects, such as assessing the impact of new FASB accounting standards and interpreting contracts for appropriate accounting treatment.

    Oversee master vendor and customer data maintenance and serve as a point of contact for accounting and payment inquiries.
    Manage the fixed assets accounting process, including depreciation posting and preparation of quarterly PP&E roll forward schedule.
    Administer the company payment card program, overseeing card maintenance, employee usage, and accurate monthly activity recording.
    Coordinate regulatory and tax filings, including quarterly FERC and annual Railroad Commission of Texas reporting.
    Support federal partnership tax functions and coordinate with external accountants and investors for annual tax returns.
    Collaborate with consultants and appraisal districts for property and sales/use tax compliance.
    Handle administrative tasks related to the ERP system, adapting it to business changes and ensuring effective use.
    Manage lease assessments and accounting (ASC 842) and annual 1099 preparation and review.
    Assist in the annual budget preparation process and support external financial audits and other audits as needed.

    Provide support for the payroll function, including bonus payment calculations and administration, and undertake other assigned projects and reporting duties.


    Accounting Manager Skills and Abilities:
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    Self-starter and ability to multi-task.

    Strong understanding of accounting standards (GAAP).Familiarity with accounting information systems (Sage Intacct preferred).Expert-level in Microsoft Office Suite skills, primarily Excel and Word.


    Accounting Manager Education and Experience:


    Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required.3+ years of experience in public accounting (Big 4 or Large Regional Firm).CPA is preferred.

    Prior experience mentoring or managing a team is highly preferred.
