    The Opportunity: A corporate safety leadership opportunity with a leading construction materials supplier, who regards safety as it's primary core value.

    Covering the companies Central division, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and guidance to the workforce.

    The role will have a clear focus on developing a high performing safety department, striving for continual improvement across the region's plants/terminals.

    Job title: Health & Safety Director
    Company: US Owned, Leading Supplier of Construction Materials
    Salary: $155k - $185k + Bonus + Stock + Benefits
    Reports To: VP of Safety
    Scope: 125 Facilities & 2000+ Total Employees
    Team Size: 3 Direct Reports (Area Managers) + 8 Senior Safety Reps

    Key Focus:
  • Promote the company core safety values across the East division
  • Accountable for division budgets
  • Compliance with company policy and federal, state, and local regulations
  • Oversee regulatory agency submissions
  • MSHA, OSHA Logs/reports, FMCSA
  • Corporate initiatives and safety & health action plans
  • Trains, coaches and mentors operations leaders and safety professionals
  • Manage the division's overall safety performance
  • Overview and responsibility for significant safety events
  • Monitor safety systems
  • Updates on region's safety performance to senior management
  • Industrial hygiene programme
  • Travel within the division as required
    Core Competencies:
  • Bachelor's Degree in occupational safety, health or related field required
  • 10 years experience in safety leadership, ideally 5 years at management level
  • Mining, construction or similar industrial experience
  • Strong understanding of MSHA, OSHA, FMCSA (DOT)
  • Excellent communication at all levels
  • Budget management
  • Successful leadership in major operating industrial facilities
