    Job Summary:
    The Youth Program Assistant will support the Youth Coordinator through the recruitment, interviewing and placement process of interns during the summer program. This position will also have the opportunity to assist the Youth Coordinator in the preparation of the high school internship program. The assistant will help schedule student appointments in the recruitment, interviews and placement process.

    Job Description

    Essential Functions
    • Assist the Youth Coordinator to set up Interviews with prospective interns and work with the Youth Services Coordinator to determine final placements.
    • Assist the Youth Coordinator with virtual and in-person outreach sessions and office hours to help candidates apply for internships.
    • Prepare revised curriculum materials and activities as directed by the Youth Coordinator.
    • Assist in preparation for in-person meetings with employers, employment coaches and students as directed by the Youth Coordinator.
    • Facilitates communication between interns and their respective employers.
    • Technical skills and attention to detail to ensure proper administration of timekeeping and other records.
    • Ability to set-up, operate, and utilize video conferencing software.
    • Microsoft and/or Google Suite skills to create, generate and assist with weekly reports and ad-hoc projects.
    • Maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders and supporters.
    • Ability to pass a Tennessee Bureau of Investigation background check.
    • Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as legal requirements, at all times.
    • Other duties as assigned by management.
    Required Skills

    Education
    • Associates Degree in Human Resources, Social Services, Education or related fields of study.
    Experience
    • One year of experience working in a social service environment and/or working with youth.
    Knowledge and Skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word.
    • Excellent Customer Service Skills.
    • Ability to present information verbally in a professional and organized manner.
    • Ability to compose well written emails, schedules, or other documentation as required in a timely manner.
    • Ability to organize work activities and to prioritize work tasks.
    • Ability to communicate with various customers to include youth, parents of youth, employers and other staff members of Goodwill Industries.
    • Ability to make decisions within latitude of job description.
    Certifications and Licenses
    • Tennessee teaching license preferred but not required.
    • Driving license required.
    • Ability to pass CPR certification.
    Preferred Education / Experience / Knowledge & Skills / Certifications & License
    • Bachelor's degree in social services field.
    • Experience working with(in) schools and/or community-based youth programs.
    • Training or relevant experience in Social and Emotional Learning and/or Restorative Justice best practices.
    • Experience utilizing an applicant database.
