    Moffatt & Nichol specializes in large complex waterfront infrastructure projects and is recognized as one of the worldwide leaders in this field.

    We are actively looking for a mid to senior level Electrical Engineer with a specialty in power systems to join our Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation (MEI) team in our Walnut Creek or Oakland office.

    This role will work on both large and small projects locally, domestically and internationally preparing plans, designs and plan production for general electrical engineering on a wide variety of projects which may include lighting, power, and grounding plans, one-line diagrams, panel and cable schedules, and different project specifications.


    Projects include:
    electrical infrastructure for ports, waterfronts, industrial, commercial, offshore wind, government and military facilities.

    You will work with an international MEI team and Senior Engineers around the company through our intraoffice staff utilization program.

    You will support projects both on the job site as well as in the office. This position offers a hybrid work schedule.

    Duties and responsibilities:

    Completes multiple or complex electrical designs to support firm-wide projects by working with Project Managers (any discipline) and electrical teammatesPerform electrical calculations, design drawings, and project specifications using latest engineering practices and code requirements.

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; required6 to 10 years of related design experience; requiredEIT, completion of fundamentals of Engineering (FE), or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in California; preferredSoftware requirements: Strong AutoCAD and/or Revit skillsProficiency in lighting calculation software such as AGI32 or othersProficiency in ETAP, SKM or EasyPowerWorking knowledge of NFPA 70; requiredExcellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) Availability and willingness to travelAll new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post-offer) background check in compliance with NIST Moffatt & Nichol uses E-Verify and employment is contingent upon the legal ability to obtain employment in the U.S.

    and to present the required documentation at hire Base salary range:

    The salary range for this position is $127,000 to $155,000 based on years of experience, level of education obtained, professional registration, and meeting required qualifications in job description.

    Base salary range only applicable for candidates who will be hired and working in the California market.


    Working conditions:
    Majority of work is office-based. Some site visits may be required which may necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment. Site visits may also include working around live electrical equipment and systems. This position offers a hybrid work schedule.
