Job Details:

Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
Manage 1:5-6 nurse to patient ratios on 55-bed unit
Care for patients with joint replacements, fractures, colon resections, COPD exacerbations, prostatectomy, cellulitis, sepsis, orthopedic trauma, GI bleeds, pneumonia, and failure to thrive
Titrate heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine drips; manage PCA pumps
Work every other weekend with additional coverage as needed based on department demand
Required to work 2-3 holidays from Thanksgiving to New Year's
May float to other medical surgical areas or units with MedSurg patients
Navy blue scrubs required for RNs
Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove will result in contract termination
Must pass open book exam on Friday during orientation with 90% or higher score
Two days of unit-specific orientation provided
Must live more than 50 miles from facility and cannot be employed with CommonSpirit facilities
Driver's license required at submittal for distance verification
Focus on hourly rounding, responsiveness, and managing multiple discharges and admissions daily
Serve diverse patient population including Spanish, Karen, and Burmese speaking patients
BLS (AHA) certification required, ACLS preferred
Use EPIC charting system
RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13-week contract)
