    Description

    Salary Range: $ $ /hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.

    The Supervisor, Genetic Counseling supervises Genetic Counselors and manages day-to-day operations of the program, including developing, implementing and ensuring high quality and cost-effective genetics services. The supervisor monitors daily activities and provides opportunities for growth and additional training. Ensures staff compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

    The supervisor provides quality assurance through individual and group supervision, as well as review of documentation and billing. Resolves problems and conflicts associated with the Hereditary Cancer Program. Steps in as Genetic Counselor as needed and provides clinical experise on more complx cases. Oversees implementation of new services, computer systems, and changes. Serves as liaison between the Hereditary Cancer Program and the Organization. Performs other duties as assigned.

    Education and Experience

  • Master's Degree in Human Genetic or Genetics Counseling from the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) accredited program
  • Minimum 5 years Genetic Counseling experience in Clinical Genetics within an oncology environment
  • Minimum 1 year experience in Oncology administration, supervision, or major responsibilities for independent programs
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and local requirements
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, plus healthcare database systems
  • Maintains active membership in local and/or regional professional genetics groups and societies
  • Qualified bilingual or multilingual candidates preferred
  • Certifications Required

  • Board Certification as a Genetics Counselor by the American Board of Medical Genetics (ABMG) or American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC)
