- Develop and implement HSE programs and requirements for assigned large scale projects.
- Assess and drive improvement in field execution of safety requirements.
- Identify and solves complex technical problems / high risk hazards in the field and ensure that risk mitigation is appropriate.
- Analyze HSE data and ensure that programs / actions address the data.
- Ensure that the culture on the projects is consistent with expectations.
- Ensure that staffing levels are appropriate and allow for safe implementations.
- Share best practices with other projects around the world and implement best practices shared by others.
- Develop a continuous improvement mindset on the projects and drive continuous improvement ideas in GFD and beyond.
- Work with site HSE professionals to integrate project safety into the fabric of the site HSE program.
- Influences management, project team members and external partners on key decisions.
- Bachelor's degree engineering, construction, occupational health and safety, or other relevant technical area
- At least 8 years' experience in a HSE role with experiences related to contractor safety and large capital project delivery, with a strong preference for greenfield site experience
- Experience with Construction Safety and OSHA regulations
- Experience in green sites / large scale projects (>$1b)
- Strong technical documentation
- External interactions with influence / regulations.
- Proven ability to integrate, drive improvement, build relationships and trust with trade contract workforce.
- Stays abreast of new regulatory and policy developments / HSE rules and regulations knowledge.
- Proficient in understanding HSE rules and regulations and their application
- Position will be based in the US
- ~25-50% travel, depending on based location.
- Day shift but will require some off shift work depending upon construction project work schedule / structure.
- This position is an onsite position and will require onsite presence the majority of the time. This is not a remote role.
