Title - Lead Scaffold Carpenter Location Riverport Rd. Memphis, TN 38109 Hours - Monday-Friday, 6am to 5pm (OT or occasional weekends based on business needs) Type - Full-time/ PermanentResponsibilities
Helps determine type of scaffold needed.
Inspects job site and all scaffold material for defects and safety hazards.
Effectively communicates safety hazards and mitigates avoidable hazards prior to construction of scaffolding.
Transports scaffold or other structural material and erects the scaffold to the dimensions required.
Adheres to all OSHA, site specific and Brand Safway requirements.
Performs final inspection of completed scaffolding.
Dismantles scaffolding when it has been properly communicated to do so.
Inspects and properly racks and stacks scaffolding material after demo.
Qualifications
At least 2 years of scaffold experience is preferred
Has an understanding of Brand Safways products
High School Diploma, General Education Degree (GED), or equivalent
Requires experience using forklift, hammer, pry-bar, banding tools, power tools (i.e. drill motor, screw guns)
Requires good oral communication skills
Requires the ability to do basic math
Requires the ability to present a clean and professional image
Scaffold experience in the commercial or industrial markets is desirable
TWIC Card and Valid State ID. Must be able to pass a background check, Hair Test, Urine and Breath Alcohol screening.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.? For safety reasons, it is imperative that the employee be able to read and speak fluent English.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk and/or hear, and/or use hands and fingers to handle or touch objects, tools, or controls.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move and/or pull up to 50 pounds (up to 100 pounds with assistance) of scaffolding equipment, which may include lifting 50 pounds (up to 100 pounds with assistance) of scaffolding above shoulders (6-7 feet) to erect and dismantle scaffolding and to load onto trucks or racks.
The employee must also be capable of continuously carrying/wearing harness and work belt weighing 25-50 pounds while erecting and dismantling scaffolding.
Must also be capable of climbing onto trailers or trucks and onto racks to secure and move equipment as well as climbing ladders to access scaffolding up to high, precarious places.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
