    About This Role:

    This position provides complex administrative support to the Accessibility Resource Center (ARC). This job title provides customer service by taking incoming calls and routing calls to the correct office or person; answering questions from students, faculty, staff, and the public, processing e-mail requests for communication access for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Interprets and explains policies and procedures and resolves problems or complaints as necessary.

    What You'll Do – Position Responsibilities

    Performs administrative support functions in the Accessibility Resource Center with a focus on Communication Access.
    Work requires contact with coworkers from other organizational units of the University, students, vendors, and the general public.
    Resourcefulness is required to reach or adjust working agreements within departmental procedures and operating needs.
    Tact and judgment are requirements in obtaining or giving information of a confidential nature.
    Process and complete scheduling requests for communication access services for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students.
    Process and complete student requests for alternative format course materials.
    Facilitate purchase orders and vendor payment requests received by the department.
    Assist with scheduling, accommodations, alternative testing, information/recruiting events, and other related tasks.
    Compile data related to students with disabilities and actively participate in annual program outcomes for ongoing process evaluation and improvement.

    Key Competencies:

    Effective communication and excellent customer service skills.
    Highly organized.
    Proficiency with word processing, database, and spreadsheets.
    Strong confidentiality ethic.
    Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, manage time efficiently, and prioritize tasks.
    General knowledge of ADA, ADAAA, and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.

    Physical Requirements:

    Sedentary, exerting up to 10 lbs. occasionally or negligible weights frequently; sitting most of the time.     Minimum Qualifications
    Minimum of two (2) years of secretarial/clerical experience preferred.
