- Conduct thorough assessments of oncology patients, including vital signs, pain levels, and emotional well-being / monitor patient responses to treatments and medications, promptly identifying any changes or complications
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to each patient's oncological condition / administer medications, chemotherapy, and other treatments as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety protocols
- Provide compassionate care to alleviate symptoms associated with cancer and its treatments, such as pain, nausea, and fatigue / employ evidence-based practices and interventions to manage symptoms effectively and enhance patient comfort
- Educate patients and their families about their oncological diagnosis, treatment options, and self-care strategies / empower patients to participate in their care and make informed decisions regarding their health and well-being
- Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, oncologists, pharmacists, and social workers, to coordinate patient care and optimize treatment outcomes / communicate effectively to ensure continuity of care and seamless transitions between healthcare settings
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with regulatory standards and organizational policies / utilize electronic health record systems proficiently to record patient information and communicate with colleagues.
- Serve as an advocate for oncology patients, addressing their needs, concerns, and preferences while promoting their rights and dignity / advocate for quality care and ethical practices within the healthcare setting
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- BLS, ACLS, & NIHSS
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in oncology nursing or a related field
- Proficiency in assessing and managing oncology patients with complex medical needs
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary teams
- Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care in accordance with ethical and professional standards
- Ability to prioritize tasks, think critically, and adapt to changing patient conditions in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems and clinical documentation practices
