Northwestern Academy of Visual and Performing Arts - Work with classroom teachers and parents to support the inclusion of Bilingual students in the instructional process
- Delivery of core curriculum concepts in students' first language when indicated
- Liaison to facilitate communication between classroom teacher and Bilingual student
- Support growth of literacy, using students first language when appropriate, bridging English as able
- Support development of English language skills
- Provide a link for school personnel with student's lives
- Communicating with parents between school and home as needed.
- Has completed at least 60 credit hours at a post-secondary college, has an Associate degree or higher, or has passed the Work Keys test
- Proficient, literate, and able to translate in English & Spanish or Swahili
- Ability to interact with students, parents, and staff in a professional manner
- Flexibility to work evening hours, if needed, for special events (Open House, Parents' Night, etc.)

Position Summary:
Bilingual support staff will be working with the principal and classroom teachers to identify Spanish or Swahili speaking students needing Bilingual support. Bilingual support staff will establish and maintain a schedule that provides the most instructional support to the students with the highest needs.

Salary: $20.00/hour
