Job summary
Determination of appropriates Mammography technique and position for patients using immobilization and support devices to ensure optimum film Quality. Position patient, adjusts equipment, immobilization and support devices as necessary, using courtesy at all times.
Responsibilities

- Maintenance of supplies needed to ensure adequate levels within the department.
- Alerts department supervisor immediately of equipment malfunctions.
- Delivers patient care in accordance with department standards.
- Schedules patients emergencies unscheduled add-on patients maintains timely flow Secures history from patients regarding the reason for test ordered records on appropriate form radiologist information Maintains positive customer relations including proper phone etiquette following prescribed standards Provides shielding every patient in accordance with prescribed radiation safety standards Demonstrates rapport assists others when necessary Maintenance of patient records answering phones scheduling exams Labels all mammograms following departments established criteria standards Checks film quality assure optimal quality obtained Performs quality control activities according ACR guidelines documents results notifies supervisor when malfunctions occur processor quality control exceeded set boundaries Competent perform reviews determines if more views are necessary complete exam Ability identify artifacts films assist problem solving Professional manner exhibited relating patients physicians family members etc times Insures secure safe environment maintaining continued awareness safety hazards Maintains housekeeping duties cleanliness neatness appearance designated work areas Adheres department procedures regarding patent safety Reports clean-up spills appropriate person Follows policy procedures exposure prevention Uses Universal Precautions daily performance procedures protects against bodily fluid contact Follows policy lifting prevent injuries Participates professional development attending inservices continuing education programs appropriate goals needs department Participation team problem solving continue improve quality Attends CPR classes maintain re-certification Maintains required amount CME credits ARRT IDNS MQSA other governing agencies Education Experience Required Graduate accredited School Radiographic Technology Years radiography required mammography experience preferred Knowledge Health Information System Ability anticipate employee needs refer action Good communication skills Licensed Radiographic Technology by IDNS CPR certification ARRT registered radiography mammography Physical Requirements Working Conditions Radiation exposure Ability work weekends Perform lifting transfer activities related patients May exposed infectious disease hazardous materials This position recognize behaviors variety age groups treated understand growth development normal patterns adolescent behavior look signs aging Prior experience various age groups preferred If has direct patien care direct patien contact lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015 Ability lift pounds without assistance For lifts over pounds or when unable assist use handling equipment least associate available Unique situation assessed case-case basis Job description indicates general nature level expected incumbent It designed cover comprehensive listing activities duties responsibilities incumbent Incumbent may required perform other related duties
