Job description
We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team on a contract basis. This position offers an exciting opportunity to manage financial processes and ensure accurate reporting.Based in Los Angeles, California, the role requires a commitment of 20-30 hours per week for a duration of 2 months.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update the general ledger to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions promptly and efficiently.
- Prepare and post journal entries to support financial reporting and reconciliation.
- Conduct thorough bank reconciliations to verify account balances and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in the year-end closing process by reviewing financial statements and preparing necessary adjustments.
- Generate detailed financial reports and summaries for management review.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting regulations and company policies.
- Provide support for audits and assist in gathering required documentation.
- Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles, preferably handling general ledger activities.
- Proficiency in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Strong knowledge of journal entries and financial reconciliations.
- Familiarity with year-end closing procedures and financial reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software and tools.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
