Description
JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
: Member of a rotating shift working under the direction of a Plant Supervisor. Responsible for performing operating functions which includes monitoring and operating power plant equipment, is knowledgeable in power plant systems, starting and stopping equipment, isolating and safety tagging equipment for maintenance activities, and monitoring water chemistry. Responsible for performing routine operator rounds and performing lubrication to plant rotating equipment as required. Is familiar with plant environmental procedures and ensure units operate within specifications. Operate and maintain units while maintaining a high level of Safety, Reliability, Efficiency and cost. Work through Operational Skills Development Plan to gain specific knowledge of plant equipment and progress through Maintenance Operator levels up to Operations Technician.

One way that Entergy has found to identify and assess the abilities and skills needed for certain jobs is through pre-employment testing.
