    Department Description:

    The Institutional Equity Division (IED) is a global leader in the origination, distribution and trading of equity, equity-linked and equity-derivative securities. The Firm's equity Sales & Trading operations provide liquidity, distribute content, and create product solutions to help our clients generate alpha.

    The Exotic Trading desk provides pricing and liquidity for equity exotic derivative products for clients across both retail (banks, distributors etc.) and institutions (Hedge Funds, Pension Funds, Insurance Companies etc.). Mandate includes a wide range of products and covers anything non-vanilla (swaps, structured notes, barriers, basket options, QIS, etc.) in OTC and securitized form.

    Position Description:

    Operational and execution-focused trading assistant supporting the New York equity exotics trading desk across various global asset classes and a wide variety of exotic payoff types.

    Assist in the execution and life cycle management of a variety of equity structured derivatives and exotic derivatives

    Work closely with internal colleagues in trading, operations, and control functions

    Manage operational queues and work to improve workflows to achieve a dual mandate of efficiency and accuracy

    Skills Required:

    Extreme attention to detail

    Ability to multitask and work under pressure

    Critical thinking, ability to identify and solve weaknesses in existing workflows

    Desire and intention to climb a steep learning curve for expertise in the exotic product space

    Excellent communication skills and effectiveness working across teams

    Previous experience and good understanding of derivatives or equity products would be an advantage

    Qualifications Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $75,000 and $125,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
