    Position Overview: We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Education Specialist to join our team in Sacramento, CA. As an Education Specialist, you will work closely with students with disabilities to support their academic, social, and emotional development. This is a contract position, offering the opportunity to work with a diverse student population and collaborate with a team of dedicated educators and therapists.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide direct instruction and support to students with disabilities in individual or small group settings.
    • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers, parents/guardians, and other members of the student's educational team.
    • Adapt curriculum materials and instructional strategies to meet the unique needs of students with diverse abilities and learning styles.
    • Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
    • Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure accommodations and modifications are implemented effectively in the classroom.
    • Provide consultation and training to teachers and staff on best practices for supporting students with disabilities.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress and services provided.
    • Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and parent conferences as needed.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's or master's degree in Special Education or related field.
    • Valid California Education Specialist Credential or eligibility for certification.
    • Previous experience working as an Education Specialist or Special Education teacher preferred.
    • Knowledge of special education laws and regulations, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
    • Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
    • Commitment to providing culturally responsive services and supporting the needs of students from diverse backgrounds.
    • Must pass a background check and drug screening.
