    The Goldfields-Esperance Development Commission (GEDC) is a Western Australian Government agency committed to promoting economic development in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia

    The GEDC works in partnership with government, industry and the community to deliver investment and economic outcomes in the regions.

    Working in Kalgoorlie-Boulder - at the heart of the thriving Goldfields-Esperance region, this is a high impact role that will enhance your networks and leadership capability.

    The Opportunity

    Working with the GEDC CEO and Board, the Director Regional Development will provide advice and leadership to deliver economic initiatives across the region and achieve regional development outcomes.

    You will foster highly effective consultative and collaborative working relationships and networks with key stakeholders across the public and private sectors, around matters relating to investment and development of the Goldfields-Esperance region.

    You will liaise with government agencies based in Perth and the regions to influence policy and investment outcomes.

    The role plans for and manages the operations of the GEDC aligned with the Board's strategic objectives, manages corporate governance functions and plays a key role in mentoring and supporting staff.

    This opportunity is based with the GEDC and the employing agency for the role is DPIRD.
    The Ideal Candidate

    The successful candidate will be an authentic leader with experience driving economic development initiatives and facilitating the delivery of government investment and strategic projects.

    We are looking for an individual with demonstrated experience in regional or economic development (or related disciplines) together with experience in corporate management, who will utilise these skills to facilitate development and growth of the Goldfields-Esperance region.

    You must have a robust and contemporary knowledge of economic development practice, government policy and programs and issues affecting regional Western Australia.

    You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to advise, influence and facilitate effectively with diverse stakeholders. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience implementing initiatives, managing projects and achieving results.

    The successful candidate will demonstrate strategic focus, an aptitude for innovative problem solving, and an ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic, stakeholder focussed environment.

    As the role is responsible for managing GEDC operations, it is essential you have demonstrated experience managing resources wisely and with integrity.
