Responsibilities
- Lifts and transports patients to and from wheelchairs, stretchers or beds, properly positioning and securing patient using proper body mechanics. Ensures the comfort of the patient by being attentive, offering blankets. Follows all posted precaution signs.
- Transports patients to their destinations. May also be responsible for transporting other items such as patient belongings, specimens,carts,wheelchairsandother equipmenttotheirdestinations.
- Contacts clinical staff immediately regarding changes to a patient's condition ,or if an issue arises withpatient'sequipmentduringtransport .
