    Acutronic is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Austin, TX. In this role, you will have broad responsibility and ownership of New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from proposal through qualification testing and production support. Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering principles, with a focus on designing, testing, and optimizing electromechanical actuators for use in aerospace and defense applications.

    Senior Mechanical Engineer

    Your Roles/Responsibilities:
    • Perform detailed mechanical design of EM actuation systems including:
      • Gearing and bearing design and analysis
      • Structural analysis
      • Analysis and specification of ancillary EM components (clutches, brakes, position sensors, etc.)
      • Tolerance stack-up of precision assemblies
    • Support proposal efforts in a fast-paced aerospace environment
    • Creation and ownership of CAD models
    • Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) (structural and thermal)
    • Create detailed component and assembly drawings
    Your Profile/Qualifications/Skills:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university, required
    • Master's Degree in Engineering, preferred
    • At least ten years of engineering experience, required
    • Professional, customer centric attitude and communication
